Wow, I am a big Hitchcock Fan !! This whole week, back from office, I have been glued to some of his best suspense movies....

Rear Window (1954) , James Stewart and Grace Kelly
The Lady Vanishes (1938) Margaret Lockwood and Michael Redgrave
The Man who knew too much (1933) The master made a remake of the same in 1956
The 39 Steps (1935) Robert Donat and Madeline Carroll
Rebecca(1940)Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier

The Man is a genius and his movies are classics. Soon I am going to have a complete AH collection...

And one thing for sure, If I ever participate in the Masterming Quiz series, my subject for the first round would definitely be Alfred Hitchcock and his movies...Well, one last bit of trivia...AH is one of those directors who likes to appear in all his movies for a small shot...like in today's times we have N Shyamalan doing his bit.....:)

One of my favorite websites : www.filmsite.org

Has a compilation of all famous and not so famous Hollywood movies. Categorized year wise, actor wise, oscar award wise....and the best part is its not a just a review site...it has the entire story posted ! with key dialogues.......:)

Today I checked out 'Rear Window" a masterpiece by Hitchkok. Nominated for four oscars but won none!

If you are a movie buff, dont miss this site.

THE JUMP

As I sit back and relax in my comfy Mumbai home, I cant help but recap the sky jump (15th October 05) ! The adrenaline rush of taking the plunge, twice on a starry night was simply amazing. I had never done something like this..or as my friends put it...it was the 'CRAZIEST THING TO DO' !!

The Sky Jump is a new attraction at the Macau Tower that takes crackpots like me on a 20 second flight over the cityscape of Macau. Taking off from the outer rim of Macau Tower 233 metres (765 Ft) above ground, it is an astounding 41 meters higher than the only other Sky Jump in the world at Sky Tower Auckland where the world’s highest bungy record was created.

This exciting attraction, designed and operated by two of the world’s greatest adventure master-minds, AJ Hackett and Waitomo Adventures was tried, tested and approved by me !! :)

It was my lucky night. They were offering two jumps for the price of one. Well most people dont want to take the risk again...if you have done this once, it should be good enough. But Indians that we are, anything free shouldnt be wasted and so I jumped twice...yes, twice....and it was double the money's worth...

As I got ready and looked beneath, I wondered , " Why am i doing this "? And before I could answer this question, the instructor asked me to get ready and JUMP. As I plunged into the macau skyline, my heart skipped not one, but many beats....All my near and dear ones, came right before my eyes, for a moment...the wind blowing hard rocked me, but i slowly started feeling comfortable as soon as I realised that the rope behind my back is holding strong....I looked around and the view was breathtaking... I was like a bird slowly gliding and descending steadily.....Within seconds I was almost touching the ground and thanks to the thrillmongers, the descend can give you jitters as well....The fall speed (although controlled) is quite high and it only slows down when you are approx 25 feet above the ground...Untill then you feel as if you are crashlanding........

Wow, an experience beyond description...something you should definitely try...

For the inquisitive lot, Macau is another small island like HK or Singapore and is termed as the Las Vegas of the east...with casinos (all jazzy like LV)...and the jump ticket cost me 518 HKD (1 USD = 7.7 HKD and 1 HKD = 5.6 INR)...
